A Slow Morning Among the Autumn Leaves

There’s something so sweet about early fall—the way the light softens, the trees turn gold and orange, and everything seems to slow down just a little. It was the absolute perfect backdrop for this sweet family session.

I first met this precious momma at work. We started around the same time and instantly connected over deeper thoughts and desires. Years later, she trusted me to photograph their wedding and now their growing family.

We met at a Barlow Farm Park in Hudson. The leaves had just started to drop and scatter across the ground. The air was thankfully cool, carrying that unmistakable autumn smell. Instead of rushing through poses, we simply took our time—sitting, noticing—soaking in the quiet of this season. This precious new life against the changing season is a beautiful reminder of how fleeting time can be. The only way to slow it down is to slow down, to take the time to take it all in. That's what we endeavored to do in this session.

I’m so grateful to capture families in these tender chapters—to document the beginnings, the in-betweens, and the moments that often pass too quickly to remember. This session was a quiet celebration of life, love, and the beauty of slowing down to hold what matters most.
