Our Adventure Challenge at CVNP

Something about this new year, ignited an adventure bug in both my husband and myself. It was likely the switch to doing creative business full time. We've been following more creative pursuits which might have given us the gumption to go out and do more. We definitely have more time as a family, and we finally feel free from the burden of the past few years. Whatever the reason, we are excited to pursue more adventures as a family, starting close at home.

National Park in Our Backyard

In case you're unaware, we live close to a national park. Now I'll admit, I'm a little sad it's not Joshua Tree or Zion, but in 2000, Bill Clinton officially established our little corner of the world cool enough to have national park status. And bonus, unlike Joshua Tree or Zion, you don't have to pay to get into Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP).

If you're new to the area or new to the idea of a national park close to home, you can stop at the newly finished Boston Mills Visitor Center to get yourself orientated.  Alongside cool clothes, you can pick yourself up a map or an official national park stamp if you do that sort of thing (we do!). It was here, after our first adventure, that the idea of an adventure challenge came to mind.

CVNP Adventure Challenge

We (meaning humans) are always working towards something, we just aren't always aware of what it is. In order to achieve a goal we need to be intentionally working towards it. Setting a goal and creating steps towards that goal is a way to get to where we want to be.

I'm a goal setter by nature, always have been, and I've found that setting goals in our "fun" lives is just as important as setting goals in our businesses or personal lives.  One of our family goals this year is to get outside and adventure more. We want to be more active, spend more time in nature, hike with our kids, save money, and throw more rocks (this is my husbands goal actually, he uses a shepherds sling but I don't know that verb for that, sling rocks?).  In order to achieve these goals we've created a challenge to explore all of the points on the CVNP map this year.
