You blink and their gummy smile is gone and before you know it, their mouth is full of teeth. Their tiny hand that tightly gripped your finger, now turns the door knobs on their own. The babbles become full sentences and creative stories and a slew of questions you didn't prepare for. Time is fleeting. One day, they won't be this little and you'll want to remember—not just what they looked like, but who they were.
Tender Truth Studio offers a modern take on school portraits: no tilted heads, no awkward props—just simple backdrops and prompts that produce honest, heartfelt photos of your child being themselves. So you can remember this season for years to come.

I’m Sarah Jean
As a seasoned photographer, longtime early childhood teacher, and mom of two, I create a gentle space where your child can feel seen and celebrated. Each gallery is filled with personality, delivered digitally for easy sharing, downloading, and printing.
What You Can Expect
All transactions will be done online.
I will email you with all the important information (how you register, order photos, delivery details and print options). I will send our reminders and tips for picture day, to help you with picture prep. Can't decide what your kid should wear? No stress. I've got you!
Picture day
With a decade of teaching and photography experience, your child is in good hands. Your child will be photographed in front of a clean, timeless backdrop with age-appropriate seating options.
You will get 3-5 digital photos delivered in an online gallery
Once payment is collected through my online system, you will be able to download, share, and order printed photos. Any printed photos will be delivered directly to your door. No need to dig through their back-pack, or pick them up at school.
What You'll Receive
How many photos?
Traditional picture day gives you one pose of your child and printed photos in different sizes. With Tender Truth Studio, you will receive a thoughtful collection of 3–5 hand-edited digital photos, each with a different expression, that beautifully capture your child's personality.
Through genuine interaction and gentle prompting, I'll draw out different expressions, capturing your child's unique look and spirit—who they really are right now. Your gallery will have a range of images that might include: a serious, thoughtful gaze, a silly expression, a playful smirk, an exaggerated mad face, a sweet smile, and hopefully a full-belly laugh! Each photo is taken with care and intention, giving you a lasting, meaningful portrait of your child's growing personality. These are the little looks you will never want to forget.
What about prints?
Once we receive your payment, you'll be emailed a link to your child's gallery by April 15th, two weeks after picture day. From there you can download photos, share with family and friends, and order prints. Any prints ordered through the store will be delivered to your house. No need to pick them up at school or search your child's back-pack.
